This Monday morning we decided to explore the American Cemetery and Memorial outside of Luxembourg City. The site is over 50 acres big and contains 5076 headstones made of white marble. It's the last resting place for American soldiers who died in Europe during World War II.
Their struggle is the foundation of our free Europe as we know it today.
After a lazy morning we drove north, along the river Sûre, enjoying the breathtaking landscape around the small villages Michelau, Bourscheid and Lipperscheid. It's a beautiful area and we left it with a feeling of calm. We then drove to Müllerthal in the eastern Luxembourg for a Sunday stroll in the beautiful Valley.
