The little village Bran in Transylvania is most famous for its castle and "Vlad the impaler" with his many ways of torturing and punishing his people. The castle is well worth a visit, especially the hidden "museum of torture" - buy the special 10 RON ticket in the souvenir shop in the castle.
45 minutes away from Bran is Brasov, and it's a must to visit this lovely city centre when driving in Transylvania. Take a stroll and admire the old buildings, the streets and squares and just relax.
On the way down to Bucharest we past the gigantic "Cimitirul Okasului" close to the little town of Sinaia. It's slightly overgrown but possesses so much charm and peacefulness that you definitely should take a few minutes of your time to stop here.
