Three highlights in Vienna
May 2011. The Austrian capital is a very beautiful city with a fantastic architecture almost everywhere you look. Stroll around and savour the environments! There is a few (three to be exact) highlights that we really would like to give some special attention:
The Kahlenberg mountain. With a short bus ride you'll get to the mountains view points. From here the views over Vienna and its surroundings are wonderful! Enjoy the moment, have a coffee and take in the Austrian capital. On your way back to down town Vienna it's highly suggested that you stroll around in the Grinzing area. It's a calm and beautiful area that is definitely worth a short stop.
Not far from Westbahnhof the palace of Schönbrunn is situated. This is a magnificent place, especially the "little" back garden with its flowerbeds and fountains. You'll need to spend several hours at this attraction if you don't want to rush through the whole area.
In the Praterstern amusement park you'll find the Wiener Riesenrad Ferris wheel, constructed in 1897 and is 64.75 metres (212 ft) tall. The large wagons gives you a very nice view over the city of Vienna and its surrounding mountains. It's definitely worth a visit! Not only for the ride, but also for the construction itself.
