Today we set course on the Slovakian capital: Bratislava. We found the yellow RegioJet bus company. We really like the concept with cheap tickets, numbered seats and infotainment in every seat on the bus. The comfort was actually better than on the airplane that got us to Budapest.
We started our walk in the city and headed for the UFO observation deck on the Nový Most bridge. From here we got some nice views over the old town and the castle. The open air viewing platform is 95 metres high and one of the more spectacular that we have visited.
Hereafter we spent almost all day walking around in the picturesque old town, with some colourful buildings as well as very worn down houses in desperate need for a little TLC.
On our way back to the bus terminal we realised that we actually were quite cold after a long day in 10 degrees and snuck in to the W cafe. This was just what we needed, a cozy cafe with nice armchairs and soft music. We could have been there for a long time, but had to catch our bus back to Budapest. Since it turned out to be more than an hour late we actually could have stayed for some time... The delay seemed to have affected several bus companies so we can't really pin this on RegioJet, and the hot complimentary tea served to our seat was a really nice way of getting the body temperature back to normal.
