Along the Israeli Dead Sea coast you'll find the ancient Masada fortress, located on a mountain top. The history of this over 2000 year old fortress tickled our minds while we enjoyed the stunning views of the Dead Sea! A couple of kilometres to the north of Masada, by the Ein Gedi oasis, you can go on a short hike to David's Waterfall - a beautiful place, but maybe a bit too exploited with quite a lot of visitors.
After driving along the Dead Sea we naturally had to take a swim in the salty water, so we drove to one of the more commercial beaches. We've never felt as light as in this water! This experience is really something else, and something we absolutely want to do again when we travel in Jordan (unplanned trip but it's on our list).
