Malta, Comino and Gozo
November 2013. We read in our guide book that it was not recommended to drive in this country due to the number of road accidents, which we of course ignored. By car we were able to plan our day trips without having to adapt to the local transport system, and that’s very timesaving. Our starting point (our hotel) was located in Mellieha, and we did the following day trips during our stay:
- Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering a lot of fantastic vantage points, cafes and restaurants. The best of all, it's very easy to get around on foot.
- Blue Lagoon (Comino) with its beautiful crystal clear turquoise water.
- The two cities Mdina and Rabat with St Paul’s Catacombs. During this day we were very efficient and also took the ferry to Gozo. On this island we found one of the most amazing creations made by nature: The Azure Window.
