6 days on the Pieterpad
March 2018. More than 120 km from Groesbeek to Montfort in the Netherlands. This trail is very diverse, from dense forests, swamps, and sand dunes to villages and cities. The Netherlands is a very flat country so the trail doesn't have that many mountains and hills, or hardly any at all to be honest. Along the trail we (Liam and a Dutchman named Thijs) stayed in different B&Bs and hotels. We paid an average price of 30-40€ per person with a super nice breakfast included. Keep in mind that you should pre-book the smaller B&Bs to make sure that you have somewhere to sleep during the night.
The whole Pieterpad is 485 km long and also connects to other major trails in Europe. So if you love to hike you could actually do this trail for a very very long time, or you could just choose to split the trail and only hike the parts that attracts you more.
The part of the trail that we hiked
The distances is copied from Wikipedia but doesn't match the reality because of several changes of the trail.
